Louis Vuitton, the international luxury-goods retailer, has selected Valerio Architects as one of their preferred partners in the US to assist in developing new luxury retail stores.
Our partnership of the last 6 years started when Louis Vuitton hired Valerio to help them execute a luxury boutique to be built within the Murakami exhibit at MOCA, the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown Los Angeles. Due to a late start and the need to open in conjunction with the exhibition gala opening event that was to be attended by thousands of guests and a number of celebrities amongst them, the project was challenged from inception by an almost impossible schedule of less than 6 weeks from design development through construction documentation, permitting, and construction. In addition to the high-end fit-out of approximately 500 sq. ft; the design included a seamless projection wall with animations developed by the Louis Vuitton graphic team in Paris that was to wrap on two of the exterior storefronts, visible from the exhibit below. This posed enormous technical challenges due to the limited distance available to project the images from. Valerio was instrumental in helping solve the all of the multiple technical challenges and allowing the project, featured here, to open in time.
Since our first successful partnership, Valerio has provided architectural services on several new luxury retail stores for Louis Vuitton, including two recent openings on the Las Vegas Strip, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Valerio worked with Louis Vuitton's Paris design team on a new location at the Bellagio resort, in a prime space along their Via Bellagio shops and fronting Bellagio's lagoon and world-famous water show. The store is designed as a series of rooms to emphasize a natural and residential feeling, and features a rotunda with a custom-design chandelier and a private patio for viewing the water show and a panorama of the Las Vegas Strip. More information and images of the project can be seen here.
Valerio was also the architect for the whole-store renovation of one of Louis Vuitton's existing Las Vegas locations, located at the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace. The location was completely re-designed and built from scratch, and represents the second largest Louis Vuitton store in Las Vegas after their massive City Center complex. The store, a 'global store' for Louis Vuitton catering to tourists, high-rollers, international clients and more, opened in the renovated space in 2011. The new store features a triple-height ceiling, extensive custom millwork merchandise displays, and a unique, free-standing 'room within a room' for watches & jewelry, and can be seen in more detail here.
Valerio continues to work with Louis Vuitton on their new store development throughout the western US, and highly values its relationship with the world-wide leader of luxury goods. We are constantly building on our experience and challenging ourselves to deliver a world-class product for our clients' brands. Please visit some of Valerio's recently completed luxury retail stores.
