The Barone & Reed Food Company is a family-run restaurant proprietorship, opening a new ±5,000 sq. ft. two story ground up building in the downtown historic district of Minden Nevada, on land belonging to the family for several generations.
Designed by Valerio Architects in 2003 and built in 2004, the Barone Reed Food Co. is designed to complement the existing surrounding structures built in the early 1800's. Valerio Architects designed the space on the narrow lot with a series of long clearstory windows running the entire length of the dining room, and a mezzanine floor open to the main dining room to bring natural light through the entire restaurant. Broken up into numerous smaller rooms, the warm and welcoming interior includes a separate ‘to go' pick-up counter, two bars (one on each floor), two stone veneered fireplaces, coffered ceilings, a glass enclosed wine cellar, and seating for over 100.
